Healing Tree Community Foundation (“HTCF”) is social action vehicle comprised of dedicated educators, activists, marketers and entrepreneurs seeking structural and systemic change for at-risk youth. Founded in 2003, Healing Tree Community Foundation has made it there personal mission to do there part to eradicate one of the leading cause of death in youths; HIV/AIDS. Jaz passion for the community outreach, changing lives and service led to the formation of HTCF’s focus on EIE (Educate Impact Empower) principles:
EDUCATE our youth about the dangers of HIV/AIDS.
IMPACT our youth in a way that builds a voice and take a stand against the spreading of HIV/AIDS
EMPOWER our youth to make the right decisions before engaging in protected and unprotected sexual activities.
HOW WE ENGAGE
Healing Tree Community Foundation’s Power in Numbers program strongly emphasizes the importance of Respecting, Reflecting, and Responding. The youth’s positive adaptation of these actions is detrimental for their success as we continue to develop them into becoming productive and responsible citizens in today’s society.
The Power in Numbers program assists youth in developing conflict resolution and de-escalation skills. We bring awareness to cyber bullying while developing key life skills through Social-Emotional learning environments. We utilize restorative practices in efforts to reestablish respect for those in authoritative positions including; our teachers, parents, elders, firefighters, and police officers.
